Diocese Suspends Mass Celebration

On Monday, March 17, the Diocese or Rochester updated the rules for parishes to respond to the spread of COVID-19.

  • All Mass celebration is suspended until further notice.
  • Funerals and weddings are allowed, but limited to 50 people in attendance.

The new rules are in effect until further notice.

The full letter from Bishop Matano is available.

Notice For St. Francis and St. Clare Parish

Due to the outbreak of the coronavirus, all Masses in the diocese were hereby suspended until further notice. Because of these continued concerns, the Parish has also taken the following precautions.

Until further notice:

  • All Parish committee and group meetings/gatherings are hereby suspended
  • No programs will be held at the Churches or the Ministry Center (including the Parish Lenten Series)
  • There will be no more visits to bring Communion to the homebound

Communion to the Sick

For those of you who brought communion to the sick, I would ask that you get in touch with them and ask that they contact the office if they need one of the sacraments, i.e. Confession or Anointing, and one of the priests will make the visit. I would encourage those who have been visiting the homebound to stay in contact with them and have your scheduled visit time over the phone instead of in person.

Please continue to check Facebook for more updates in the coming hours and days about our efforts to keep people connected to Mass and to the parish.
